Gidgee Bore Project

(E51/1096) - 80% Encounter, 20% Avoca

The Gidgee Bore project is located approximately 60kms north west of Meekatharra and lies within the Yilgarn Province. The area was targeted by a radiometric anomaly located along a major structure mapped by the GSWA, which is also evidenced in the regional magnetics data. The geology of the area is dominated by granitic and gneissic outcrops. Interpretation of the surface uranium channel radiometrics indicates the area contains a broad zone of metasomatic alteration and elevated uranium anomalism.

Results received from the initial program of reconnaissance rock chip sampling generated an area of base metal anomalism at Gidgee Bore. A geochemical analysis of multi element data and targeting program was completed by GCXplore Pty Ltd on 474 rock and regolith samples. Elevated Pb, Zn and anomalous Ag (up to 10ppm) were found across 2km spaced sample lines in the south of E51/1096.

The southern portion of Gidgee Bore was targeted for a detailed Maglag sampling program, designed at a spacing of 200m by 50m, and totalling 666 samples. XGS Exploration Geochemistry Services analysed these Maglag results to determine if there were any significant geochemical correlations. A number of anomalies were highlighted in the data that require follow up work and targeting for geophysics.
